Meet Jessica Witt
Hello. My name is Jessica Witt. I am a Registered Kinesiologist and a Certified Personal Trainer with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology. I am in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario and the Ontario Kinesiology Association. I completed my Bachelor of Kinesiology (Honours) degree at Brock University in 2020. During my degree, I gained practical experience working with older adults and individuals with various neurological conditions at a health and wellness centre. My specific interests are in therapeutic exercise, restoring and improving movement function, injury prevention, and promoting active lifestyles. I am passionate about helping people move with more ease and comfort so that they can do the activities they love without experiencing pain and discomfort.
My Journey into Kinesiology
My journey into kinesiology and personal training was inspired by my own personal experiences with injuries and pain. I have always enjoyed being active and movement has always been an important part of my life. In high school, I developed a passion for running, which gave me a sense of connection and purpose. However, this came with its challenges as I frequently encountered pains and injuries that left me feeling frustrated.
In my early twenties, persistent pain and tension began to limit my activities. Seeking relief, I consulted various health professionals and became increasingly interested in how movement and body mechanics contributed to my discomfort. This curiosity led me to pursue a degree in Kinesiology, where I honed my skills in movement assessment and therapeutic exercise. Through my studies and personal exploration, I discovered the transformative power of movement and exercise in alleviating pain and improving quality of life. It is my hope that my personal journey will allow me to support others with empathy and compassion and provide them with inspiration that improvement is possible.
Since completing my degree, I have continued to advanced my knowledge and skills through various courses and workshops, including:
- Therapeutic Yoga Intensive Training by Functional Synergy
- Move Your DNA Workshop by Nutritious Movement
- Functional Movement Screen Level 1 and 2 Certifications by Functional Movement Systems
These additional learning opportunities have equipped me with a diverse set of tools to help my clients achieve their health and movement goals.

Approach and Philosophy
At Move More Freely, my practice is built on the principles of:
Personalized and Holistic Care
In my approach I consider the whole body and the whole person. I work in collaboration with you to create a plan that meets your unique needs and goals. To identify possible opportunities for growth and determine an appropriate path forward, I begin with an assessment of your movement. I use my practical knowledge of movement to help me see where there may be restrictions and compensation patterns which could be contributing to your pain or preventing you from moving with ease. To support sustainable change, I follow a general progressive process in which I start with restoring passive and active range of motion, followed by establishing functional movement patterns and then improving strength, endurance, and power. I tailor your movement program to meet the needs of your lifestyle and preferred physical activities to support balance in your movement, prevent injury, and enhance performance.
Curiosity and Kindness
I provide a safe and welcoming environment which fosters relaxation and supports opportunities for positive change in your movement and well-being. I have a curious and kind approach and encourage you to listen to your body. I provide opportunities for you to explore your movement and become more attuned to your body and breath which can help you move with more ease and help you recognize when you may be overstraining.
Empowerment and Hope
Through the process of exploring, restoring, and strengthening your movement, I help you find more clarity and understanding of how you move, and I provide you with knowledge and tools that you can use to care for yourself and maintain your progress as you move forward. In addition to providing you with a home exercise program, I also offer suggestions on how you may incorporate more movement into your everyday life which can enhance your progress and further support your health. As I work with you, I provide opportunities for you to feel more ease and freedom in your movement and to discover your full movement potential so you can live a fulfilling, movement rich life.

My Mission
My mission is to help you move better, feel better, and live a healthier, more fulfilling life. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, dealing with chronic pain, or looking to improve your overall fitness, I am here to support you every step of the way. It is my hope that my personal journey and professional knowledge will inspire and enable you to experience more freedom and ease in your movement.
